Due to its high boiling point and slow evaporation rate, it serves as a solvent for nitrocellulose lacquers, vinyl resin coatings, and other synthetic resin coatings. It also functions as an intermediate in the production of certain pharmaceuticals and pesticides. Food flavoring agent. Primarily used in the formulation of flavorings for jackfruit, banana, orange juice, egg fruit, tropical fruits, rum, and rum-based liqueurs.
