The primary application of Sec-Butyl Acetate is in the coatings and paints industry as a medium-evaporating solvent for lacquers, enamels, and thinners. Its evaporation rate falls between that of ethyl acetate and butyl acetate, making it ideal for achieving proper film formation and flow in automotive, wood, and industrial coatings.
