Feed-grade DCP stands for Dicalcium Phosphate Dihydrate.DCP functions as a technologically versatile food additive, providing anti-caking, leavening, dough-conditioning, emulsifying, stabilizing, and nutritional supplementation properties in food processing applications. It is applied as a leavening agent in flour-based baked goods including cakes and pastries; serves as a comprehensive bread conditioner; and functions as a processing improver for fried food products. Additional food applications include biscuits, milk powder, chilled beverages, and ice cream formulations where it contributes to both product quality and nutritional enhancement. For feed applications, DCP is available in 17% and 18% phosphorus grades, supplied in powder and granular forms, providing essential calcium and phosphorus supplementation for livestock and poultry diets.

Environmental Protection and Feeding Considerations:
1. While DCP provides stable feeding effects for adult livestock and poultry, its phosphorus digestibility is limited, resulting in higher fecal phosphorus emissions than MCP.
The total intestinal true digestibility (TTTD) of phosphorus in growing pigs from DCP is approximately 82.33%-82.88%. Adding either DCP or MCP to the diet linearly increases total fecal phosphorus excretion. Compared to highly water-soluble phosphorus sources (such as MDCP), livestock and poultry fed DCP have a higher proportion of active phosphorus in their feces, leading to a greater risk of environmental leaching.
2. If farms have environmental phosphorus restriction requirements, a small amount of MCP can be mixed in.
MCP has a higher bioavailability of phosphorus than DCP. Using it in combination can reduce total phosphorus addition and fecal phosphorus excretion while ensuring animal phosphorus requirements are met. Studies have shown that replacing DCP with MDCP can improve phosphorus digestibility and reduce total phosphorus excretion by 15.6%. For farms with environmental phosphorus restriction requirements, mixing a small amount of MCP in combination is a feasible technical solution.
3. Store in a dry, well-ventilated warehouse to avoid prolonged exposure to rain and moisture, which can cause clumping.
DCP should be stored in a cool, well-ventilated, and dry place to prevent physical damage. During transportation and storage, it must be protected from rain, moisture, and sunlight. While DCP has low hygroscopicity, it may still clump and spoil if exposed to moisture.
4. Strictly follow the feed formulation ratio when adding DCP. Excessive amounts can easily cause calcium-phosphorus imbalance, affecting feed intake efficiency.
Calcium-phosphorus imbalance is a common problem in compound feeds. Excessive calcium will reduce animal feed intake and may even lead to refusal to eat. An imbalanced calcium-phosphorus ratio directly affects the efficiency of calcium and phosphorus absorption and utilization by animals.
